Writing Practical and Useful Job Descriptions
Wednesday, July 20th, 2010, 12:00 p.m-1:00 p.m.
1809 Northwestern Avenue, Stillwater, MN 55082
Speaker and Employment Law attorney, Jennifer Nodes will discuss:
- Creating complete and practical job descriptions
- Distinguishing exempt from nonexempt
- Using job descriptions in performance evaluations
Well-written job descriptions can support a variety of HR functions. They communicate job requirements, support wage and salary administration, and serve as support documentation for legal compliance. Recent laws and regulations, such as the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), have made it more important for organizations to determine their approach to job descriptions. Attend this one hour lunch and learn and discover how to write job descriptions that identify critical job functions and requirements while distinguish the difference between exempt and nonexempt employees.
