HUDSON, WI (August 31st, 2012) -The law firm of Eckberg, Lammers, Briggs, Wolff & Vierling, PLLP announces Hugh H. Gwin is retiring after 39 years of practicing law. Gwin practiced primarily in the areas of business, real estate, and estate planning with Eckberg Lammers, in their Hudson, WI office.

Mr. Gwin practiced with a firm whose roots go back to the 1880's in downtown Hudson, at the same intersection. The firm historically provided legal services to Western Wisconsin and the St. Croix River Valley in the areas of business, municipal, real estate, probate, trusts and wills. His Father, Hugh F. Gwin, joined the firm in 1943, and Gwin joined the firm in 1973. In 2010 Gwin merged his practice with Eckberg, Lammers, Briggs, Wolff & Vierling, PLLP.

Hugh H. Gwin commented, "Joining Eckberg Lammers gave me the expanded resources and expertise of a larger firm, to better serve my clients. I am grateful to the partners and especially the late Jim Lammers for the opportunities provided to me. I look forward to the next stage of my life and spending more time with friends and family."

Mr. Gwin will continue to serve the Hudson community as a mediator in the recently initiated St. Croix County court systems' foreclosure litigation mediation program. Gwin is also a professional ski instructor and intends to spend more time on the slopes this winter.
